Uptime monitoring and status pages, hosted in the EU

Uptimepage is built and operated from Cyprus and stores your data in Finland. You can keep your checks on EU regions. The source is public, so you can read it or run it on your own servers. The parts that are not European are listed below for you to judge.

Where your data lives

Your monitors, check results, incidents and status pages are stored in the EU, in a Hetzner data centre in Helsinki, under the law of the EU and its Member States. Long-term storage stays in Finland even when a check runs from a region outside the EU. That region gets only what the check needs and sends its results back.

Keep your checks in Europe

Each monitor runs from the regions you pick, on every plan. New monitors start in New York, Frankfurt and Helsinki, so for EU-only checks, remove New York. With two regions, the default majority rule needs both to agree before a monitor counts as down. London is there too if the UK counts for you.

What is not European

Check regions outside the EU run on Fly.io, a US company, and New York stays on by default until you remove it. Transactional email goes through Resend, also in the US. Sign-in with GitHub, Google, Microsoft or GitLab is optional and goes through those companies. Paddle, a UK merchant of record, sells the paid plans. The source sits on GitHub, the domain is a .dev, which Google's registry runs, and prices are in US dollars. The European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses cover transfers to the US companies.

Who is behind it

Uptimepage is run by one person in Nicosia, Cyprus. For a monitoring vendor that is a real trade-off. The code is public, so you can run it yourself if we ever stop. The Impressum names the operator and gives a postal address and phone number.

Processor terms are in the contract

For personal data in your account, such as status page subscribers, you are the controller and we are your processor. The Terms say so directly. We process that data only on your instructions, tell you about breaches, allow audits, and email you 30 days before adding or replacing a sub-processor. You do not have to sign a separate document or ask for one.

Run it on your own servers

If you can't accept any third party, self-host. The source is public under AGPL-3.0, and on-call schedules and escalation policies are in the same build. You place the region agents yourself, and your data stays on infrastructure you pick, in the country you pick.

FAQ

Is Uptimepage hosted in the EU?
Yes. The hosted service runs on Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland, and your data is stored in the EU. It is operated from Nicosia, Cyprus.
Can I keep all my checks inside the EU?
Yes. Pick Frankfurt and Helsinki on the monitor and remove New York, which new monitors start with. Those are the two EU regions today. London is also available, in the UK.
Does any data leave the EU?
Some can. A check in a region outside the EU receives what it needs to run, such as the URL and headers. Transactional email goes through Resend in the US, and optional sign-in goes through the provider you choose. Long-term storage stays in Finland.
Is there a data processing agreement?
Yes, it is part of the Terms. For personal data in your account you are the controller and we are your processor, and the Terms include sub-processor notice, breach notice and audit rights. The processors are listed in Section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Standard plan is $0 with no card: 20 monitors, checks every 3 minutes from up to 3 regions, and one status page. It is fine for business use. Pro is $9 a month and Team is $19, plus tax.
