Domain expiry checker

Check a domain's registration expiry date, days remaining, and registrar using public registry data. Free, with no sign-up. A website that still loads is not proof that its registration is paid up.

public RDAP data · looked up by our server · results cached for up to 15 minutes

Enter a domain to check its registration expiry date.

Read the date, then check your renewal

This tool reads the expiration event in the domain's RDAP registration data. It looks up the registered name: shop.example.co.uk becomes example.co.uk. The result names the domain it checked and links to the registry response.

fieldhow to use it
expiry dateThe public registration expiration timestamp, shown in UTC. Confirm your payment deadline with the registrar.
days remainingWhole days until that timestamp. Less than a day is shown explicitly; a passed date is never displayed as time remaining.
registrarThe registrar named in the response, when available. Use your registrar account to check billing and auto-renewal.
checked atWhen we fetched the record. Results may be reused for up to 15 minutes to reduce requests to registries.

A future date is not a payment receipt. Registry auto-renewal can move the public expiry date while a registrar still needs your renewal payment. If the dates disagree, ask your registrar.

An unavailable date is not an available domain

Some domain endings do not expose expiry through RDAP. Registries can also throttle requests or temporarily stop answering. This checker reports those limits instead of guessing a date or claiming the domain is available to register. It does not fall back to WHOIS.

Expiration does not mean immediate deletion. Recovery rules vary; ICANN's renewal and expiration FAQ explains the distinction for registrants. If a renewal is overdue, contact your registrar rather than waiting for the website to stop loading.

Watch registration separately from the website

A parking page can answer a status-code check after a registration lapses. That failure is covered in why your domain can expire while your uptime monitor stays green. A registration check and an HTTP check answer different questions.

The certificate has its own expiry date. Read it with the SSL certificate checker. If the name points somewhere unexpected, compare its records with the DNS lookup tool.

FAQ

What does this domain expiry checker look up?
It reads the expiration event from public RDAP registration data and shows the registrar when provided. It checks the registered domain, so app.example.com becomes example.com. It does not test the website or its SSL certificate.
Why is the expiry date unavailable?
Some registries do not publish an expiry date through RDAP. A lookup can also fail because of rate limits or a temporary registry problem. An unavailable result does not mean the domain is unregistered or available to buy. Check your registrar account for its renewal deadline.
Is the registry expiry date my payment deadline?
Not necessarily. Your registrar may require payment earlier, and registry auto-renewal can change the public date before your own renewal is settled. Check your registrar account and billing details rather than treating this result as proof of payment.
Does an expired domain become available immediately?
No. Expiration is not the same as deletion or availability for registration. Grace periods and recovery rules vary by registry and registrar. Contact your registrar promptly if your renewal is overdue.
Can I receive domain expiry alerts?
Yes. The monitor-this-domain link starts Uptimepage's domain-monitor setup with the registered domain filled in. Choose your warning thresholds and notification channel. The public lookup itself does not schedule checks or send alerts.

Get a warning before renewal is due

Use the result's monitor-this-domain link to start a scheduled check. Choose warning thresholds and attach a notification channel you read. The domain monitor reference explains the settings and lookup coverage.
